Why You Should Hire a Photographer for Your Next Event

When you’re hosting an event, whether it’s for a business anniversary, celebrating a huge accomplishment, employee appreciation, or celebrating anything really, I highly recommend hiring a professional photographer to capture the event. As someone who has worked in marketing positions at a handful of companies, I can honestly say that it is so important to just hire someone to take photos for your event, rather than putting the responsibility on an employee, especially if they are there to enjoy the event. In this post, I’ll give you five reasons why you should hire a photographer.

  1. Content bank: You’ll have a content bank full of photos from the event. If you tell your marketing specialist to just snap a few photos at your event while they’re also there to enjoy it, chances are, you won’t get as many photos as you would get if you were to hire a professional photographer who isn’t an employee. The right photographer will grab details, candids of the employees, group photos, etc. Plus, if it’s you or an employee behind the camera, they won’t be in any photos!

  2. Efficency: It’ll save you and/or your employee(s) time by hiring the photographer to take the photos, cull, edit, and deliver. They’ll be the ones narrowing down the photos and giving you the best of the best. So no one at your company will have to worry about that.

  3. Professionalism: If you’re hosting an event for your employees and/or clients, it will make you appear more professional. Your employees will also appreciate having a day off and enjoying whatever you may be celebrating.

  4. Less stress: Sit back and enjoy the event without having to worry about photos being taken, or directing your employee(s) on what photos to take. Prior to the event, you and your photographer should discuss the timeline and the important shots. Depending on the event, you can also give them a shot list. For example, if you’re celebrating your 50th anniversary, provide them a list of the group photos with names.

  5. Humanize your brand: When you’re too focused on selling your services and/or products, it comes off too sales-y. No matter if you’re a company of 5 or a company of 500, your customers and potential customers want a connection. You can do this by posting more content of your employees on your social media.
